Emma Clark Gratton and Tess McCabe met via the online world and spent the heady days of early motherhood clutching cups of tea and pondering their new way of life with the tiny humans they had made. Now they have more kids, more challenges, more parenting dilemmas/anecdotes and have drunk way more tea.
On each episode of The New Normal, Emma and Tess invite a fellow parent to chat about life, kids, partnerships and fitting in work (usually creative work) around kid stuff; or discuss the things they have been enjoying and enduring as parents of young kids. Our theme tune was written by Patrick McCabe and produced/recorded by Chris Yates. We record The New Normal in Melbourne, sometimes over Skype and sometimes in person. |
About Emma Clark Gratton
Emma is a writer living in the leafy outer suburbs of Melbourne with her furniture-building husband Lee, and sons Archie and Jed. She and Lee run a furniture design company called Gratton and together they have renovated two and a half dilapidated houses in Melbourne (and can still get excited by flooring substrate brochures). In her spare time Emma writes about building, making things and mothering.

About Tess McCabe
Tess is a graphic designer and publisher living in the inner north of Melbourne with her editor husband Patrick, and two sons. She is the marketing manager at Obus, co-founder and former president of Creative Women's Circle, and produces books and resources for creative peeps via Creative Minds (her first book acted as a great distraction from morning sickness and pregnancy-related pelvic pain). She loves tea, listening to podcasts, and devising grand plans.
